Born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario, I grew up with film/tv media, always watching cartoons after school and attending the FanExpo convention in Toronto every year. It wasn't until the end of elementary that I looked ahead at what I'd like to do in life, but found myself unsure of my passions. I attempted music production, giving up after realizing I couldn't commit to learning how complex it really is. Around high school, however, I found myself enjoying voice impersonations as a hobby, eventually understanding the thought that goes into bringing characters to life. That's when I realized my interests were in the very things that made my childhood memorable. I wanted to give the same joy I had felt to other people through media. Taking the Drama class in my 5 years at Waterloo Collegiate Institute assured me that acting was the career I had gained the passion to fully commit to.
I knew the journey would be difficult, as I was and still am an introvert who struggles to be emotionally vulnerable. With the 2 year course primarily focusing on being in front of the camera, something I've hardly done, enrolling in the "Acting for Film & Television" at Humber College really challenged my insecurities and mental fortitude. At points I doubted my ability to change and adapt to the terrifying pressure of standing out as an entertainer. Even after graduating, I am continuing to pursue personal growth, but the most important takeaway from my experience at Humber, is that I am capable of achieving my dream. While I am more comfortable in voice-over work, I will still open myself up to being on screen in honor of my fantastic teachers, classmates, and passion of becoming an actor that people can look up to.
